Long ago, before the names Bluestar and Firestar had even been thought of, the forest prospered. Each Clan was ruled by a strong leader, and never did a fight break out.
But the peace did not last long.
ShadowClan, desiring power, stole kits from ThunderClan. Not surprisingly, ThunderClan launched an attack on them. To their surprise, and disadvantage, ShadowClan had been training even in the time of peace. ThunderClan, lazy and fat, lost the battle, and two warriors with it. They ran home with their tails between their legs, utterly defeated.
The kits grew up not knowing that they had ThunderClan blood. Black-kit, a black tom with a white face and gray eyes, even became leader. He never found out that he was a born ThunderClan cat. And to this day, he still doesn't know.
WindClan and RiverClan heard about this incident and trained hard, then formed a truce with each other. The warrior code would be followed, of course, but if either of the larger Clans attacked, they would support each other. It paid off one day, when ShadowClan challenged WindClan for a piece of territory. The cats of RiverClan and WindClan won the battle.
Peace has been shakily maintained, but it can't be long before ThunderClan gets that burning desire of Sunningrocks...
