Name:// Emberstar Clan:// Ocean Gender:// She-cat Moons:// 40 Overview of Pelt:// She has a beautiful dark ginger pelt. Full Pelt:// Slightly toned muscles rest beneath a beautiful ginger pelt that is a few inches long and dries easily. She often gets wet, which is why her pelt ruffles whenever water or a liquid gets on it. The gray pelt is perfect for hunting for seafood, for it is the same color as a shadow, so fish and other seafood are unsuspecting for the real cat and which is fake.
Her claws are rather dull, though it can rake through a pelt like it is water. However, compared to other cats’ claws, they are very dull. They gouge deep wounds into the ground though, like small little trenches. Stripes adorn the curved, sharp surface of her claws, and they glow silver against the moonlight on some nights. It is said that those with stripes on their claws are either cursed or blessed by StarClan.
A small, delicate head rests upon a petite, lithe body. Her tail is limber and flexible, easy to wrap around an enemy’s neck. It is decorated with black rings, almost like a raccoon’s. Her legs are lengthy and she can run as fast as any other cat without making a sound on the forest turf of her home. Along her back is a darker pale ginger that branches out into several lines that trace along her dark ginger pelt. No other cat has exactly the same markings, so they are a near dead giveaway.
Her beautiful eyes are a lovely green eyes, nearly flawless. During battle, she has a hard glint in those green eyes that send a tremor through the opposing cats. However, when looking at those that mean the most to her, her green eyes glow with warmth and possibly even love toward them.
Personality:// Kind to those in her Clan, Emberstar is the “social butterfly” in the Clan. Her happy personality is addictive to every cat in her Clan, thus making her a best friend to every cat. She also loves to play with the kits; she has a tendency to get too rough though. She is very sensitive to other cats’ feelings and is gentle enough to care for her Clanmates. Her abilities are better as a warrior and fighter than a healer.
Her other side is dark and confusing. At some points in time, she can be moody and withdrawn, not willing to do anything. When she is feeling this way, the only thing that will truly cheer her up is sharing tongues with her closest friends and hunting for her Clan. Her best friends are aware of this mood change, so they know exactly what to do when Emberstar is feeling down.
Both kind and dark, Emberstar can be described as “bipolar” but her mood-swings are not common, and are far in-between. She doesn’t like being considered as different, when in reality, she is just like every other cat. Some moments, when her dark, confusing mood overtakes her, she wanders the territory, keeping away from other cats, staying in solitary until her mood has passed. Since she has been this way since her birth, she knows when she switches moods and how to control her dark side.
History://
+Emberkit Darkness. That’s when Emberkit was born, in the time just before the sun rose in the night sky, and the warriors of StarClan were watching over them, through the gaps between the sturdy bracken that covered the nursery in the OceanClan camp. Emberkit’s mother was particularly bathed in moonlight that night, her labor watched over by StarClan carefully. Just before the sun rose, Wingkit, the eldest of the three kits, was born. Just minutes after the sun had risen, Ashkit was born, the only tom, and finally Emberkit’s sister, Pebblekit.
The three siblings were inseparable; they went everywhere with each other. Together, they made mischief in the medicine cat’s den, and spent nearly all day sharing tongues, and play-fighting. That was the time of green-leaf, when prey was abundant. Perhaps if the trio had been born during leaf-bare, they would have all lived to see another leaf-bare.
As their fifth moon came around and leaf-bare arrived, the three kits, unaccustomed to the coldness and hungry feeling in their stomach when the warriors could not find enough fish, grew skinny and their eyes dulled. As green-cough swept over the camp, Pebblekit contracted it. She was immediately rushed to the medicine cat’s den, but a few days later, she went to hunt with StarClan. Emberkit and Ashkit mourned their sister, grief turning their faces to stone. They no longer did anything, for everything they had done reminded them of their sister. Their apprentice ceremony held no joy for either of them.
+Emberpaw Emberpaw was granted Hollyleaf as her mentor; proud and loyal described Emberpaw’s mentor. Hollyleaf filled in the empty space that Pebblekit had left behind, but it could not really be filled. There was still a slight space where Pebblekit used to be. Hollyleaf and Emberpaw spent days together, hunting, speaking of fighting strategies. Emberpaw was happy, for her parents had died just after her apprentice ceremony. Ashpaw was a different story.
Ashpaw grew more moody and silent, unwilling to go anywhere. He spoke to his sister about it, killing himself, going to StarClan. Emberpaw, of course, dissuaded him, telling him that StarClan would call for him when they deemed it was so. This satisfied Ashpaw for the moment, though Emberpaw could sense a growing discomfort about him.
The two siblings were called together for a patrol that eventually led to a full-blown battle. Their leader was caught up in it too, fighting like a LionClan cat. In this battle, Hollyleaf was killed mercilessly by another warrior. As Emberpaw stood over her mentor’s dying body, she heard Hollyleaf murmur, “Take care Emberpaw. I’ll miss you.” Then, Hollyleaf’s flank grew still as her spirit left her body. Emberpaw pushed her nose into her mentor’s fur one last time and went off once more into battle.
Meanwhile, Ashpaw was fighting like a TigerClan cat, flinging himself at warriors, angry and slightly excited. The cat that was fighting these warriors did not remind Emberpaw of the cat that had so soon before never wanted to leave his den. Ashpaw made many a warrior flee before him, eyes gleaming in the heat of battle. Alas, this could not fully succeed. Ashpaw met the leader of that Clan, and the leader slew him, tearing his throat. As Emberpaw leapt at the leader, Ashpaw’s gurgle was cut short. His lips were curved in an ever-lasting snarl, and his eyes still shone defiance. The leader shot one cold look at the dead apprentice, and called back the warriors. They had done what they came to do. After OceanClan’s leader recovered, she did the proper ceremony to make Ashpaw a warrior before he went to StarClan. His warrior name was Ashstone. It reminded Wingpaw of her sister, Pebblekit.
Though she was too young to receive her warrior name, she was praised in front of the Clan, though her eyes still glimmered with grief. She vowed, from that day, to be the best warrior she could be. Since Hollyleaf too died in that fateful battle, she was assigned Skywing as her mentor.
Sadly, though, Skywing later died of a bout of green-cough that ravaged their camp. The death of her mentor reminded Emberpaw too much of Pebblekit, so she forgot completely that her warrior ceremony was that night. And with surprise, she became, that night, Embercloud.
+Embercloud As she became more comfortable as Embercloud the warrior, she became a mentor. Her apprentice was an enthusiastic young tom named Fallenpaw. He was so much like Embercloud, and she knew that they would get along. How they spent their days, hunting and training, it was everything that Embercloud wanted. She adored spending time with her apprentice.
Moons passed, and Fallenpaw was beginning to blossom into a happy, strong young tom. Embercloud thought her lucky that she had the chance to mentor the young tom. That night, she sat proudly by his side as he recieved his warrior name. However, Fallenstorm, his warrior name, and Embercloud still remained best friends. They would not go anywhere without the other. Other she-cats were jealous of her, but Embercloud knew they were simply friends.
A battle with SmokeClan tore Embercloud away from her best friend. She was busy battling a strong SmokeClan warrior, while Fallenstorm writhed with a SmokeClan she-cat. She sent the enemy running, and looked around with bright green eyes for Fallenstorm. Her breath caught when she saw his battered body being mauled by the same SmokeClan she-cat. She leaped on her, scoring her body, making her flee. Sadness made her furious, and the she-cat barely escaped with her life. As the battle abated, Embercloud sat by her best friend's lifeless body, head bowed. In the same battle, the old deputy had died, and the leader appointed Embercloud as his deputy.
+Life as a Deputy
Life was good as deputy. At first, she was slightly reluctant to order cats around, but she became used to the charges. For a few months, life was great. Then everything changed as she had just gotten used to her position as deputy.
The leader had contracted a bad bout of black-cough, and the medicine cat couldn't do anything but ease the pain. The whole Clan knew that the leader was on his last life, so Embercloud panicked. She wasn't ready. She was there in time to hear his last breath and remembered the panic she had felt when she knew he had gone to hunt with StarClan. But finally, she realized that he had chosen her for a reason, and that was because he knew she had the right materials to build the Clan into something great. With that knowledge, she set off to rebuild the Clan.
